The 2nd & PCH project’s initial plan with City of Long Beach Public Works, to remove palm trees along Maria Dr. would have destroyed much of the habitat for the majestic Great Blue Herons of the area. This is a de novo hearing in response to an appeal of the City of LB’s application to remove the trees by two local environmental activists, appellants Ann Cantrell and Anna Christenson.
