Lawsuit Promised. Lawsuit Filed!
Today the Long Beach Reform Coalition filed suit against the City of Long Beach in Los Angeles Superior Court to undo the blatantly illegal action taken by the City Council last December to sneak in an extra quarter-percent increase to our already astronomical local sales tax.

Special thanks to our co-plaintiffs in this case, Jane Nadeau, longtime LBRC supporter whose named in her capacity as a resident of Long Beach who shops and pays sales tax, and Walter Ordoñez, whose named in his capacity as a sales tax collecting & paying small business owner.
Please show him your appreciation by visiting his establishment, JW Goodson Hair Salon at 2205 E. Broadway for all your salon needs!
We, of course, will keep you updated as the litigation progresses. We expect an expedited placement on the court docket, due to the nature of the case and the fact that the tax hike goes into effect on April 1st.
